BUSELLATO - COMPANY HISTORY

Sixty years of Venetian industrial excellence

Busellato S.p.A. was founded in 1956 soon became one of the most significant industrial concerns in the wood working machinery sector.

History tells us that already in 1967 Busellato, with a workforce of almost 40 people, introduced a new machine called Favorit on the market - t was the very first automatic drilling machine capable of performing all drilling operations, at any angle. After more than forty years, some of these machines can still be seen at work at our customers’ plants.

Throughout the seventies, the whole of Busellato’s production was absorbed by the German and Swiss markets, who found the qualities that they had always been looking for, in terms of sturdy construction and accuracy, in Busellato products.
Since then, Busellato’s production has been characterised by unrestrained development:

  • 1970 – first fully-automatic borer & dowel inserter;
  • 1971 – first automatic loading boring/dowel inserting machine;
  • 1976 – first numerical control machining centre for boring and milling operations.

In 1981 Busellato presented the first completely electronically controlled multi-spindle drilling machine, with more than 20 controlled axes.

During the nineties, the launching of a new range of completely innovative working centers (called JET) on the market, allowed the company to further strengthen its position on traditionally strategic markets, such as the USA, UK and Spain, in addition to the home market.

In the year 2000, Busellato obtained ISO 9001 Quality certification as confirmation of the very high organizational systems implemented in the company. In 2002 this certification was extended with the VISION 2000 certification which evidences the attention that Busellato has always given to its customers.

Since then Busellato has expanded rapidly, setting itself very ambitious targets.  In 2007 Busellato became part of the SCM GROUP S.P.A., world leader in the woodworking sector, and has recently joined forces with Casadei Macchine.
